How PrivatePads verifies guests and hosts

Trust is the foundation of any rental marketplace. At PrivatePads, we take verification seriously because it directly impacts the safety and experience of everyone on our platform.

Guest verification

When a guest signs up, they start as unverified. This means they can browse the platform but will see blurred listing images and won't be able to book. To unlock full access, guests submit their verification through their profile page.

Our team reviews each submission carefully. Once approved, the guest's status changes to "verified" and they gain full access to listing details, photos, and the ability to book spaces and message hosts.

Host verification

Hosts go through their own verification process. Before listings can go live, hosts must complete Stripe onboarding, which includes identity verification and connecting a bank account for payouts. This ensures that every active host on the platform is a real person with a verified identity.

Why this matters

Verification creates a layer of accountability on both sides. Guests know that hosts are genuine property owners. Hosts know that guests have been reviewed before they can book. This two-way trust system is what makes PrivatePads different from platforms where anyone can sign up and book immediately.

What about privacy?

Verification information is handled securely and is never shared between users. Guests and hosts interact through our messaging system and only see public profile information. Sensitive details like emails, phone numbers, and verification documents are kept strictly private.

Continuous improvement

We're constantly refining our verification process based on community feedback and evolving best practices. Our goal is to make verification quick and straightforward while maintaining the high trust standards our users expect.
